I have a chance to pick up a Sig 716 AR10, with case and 100 rounds for $1829. Is this a good deal? Also, I know this is a new rifle. Is it a good one? Thanks

It is a good one.
I had one and it was accurate and nice but they are "big" rifles like 50% more than an AR in size and weight

Yes, it is worth it.

$1829 is around the asking price at this time.

An excellent rifle!

I ordered one as well...

Sigh, now I have been sucked into the 308 winchester vs 7.62mm x51 debate/argument on the errornet.

Been there.  With the same rifle. Essentially, the 716 will handle any NATO or commercial round, but I haven't experimented with hotter .308 loads to find out how they feel and how they cycle.  The gas system meters nicely, so it would be kind of hard to hurt the rifle.

My brother has a 716, and I believe he is pleased with it. As another post states, it is a big, heavy rifle.

I have a 516 which satisfies me greatly. They are great rifles in both calibers, so I say get it. Good price too!
