Thanks to Jacob Leach and the rest of the Adams Arms Customer Service Team. A year ago i purchased a AA 16" upper from Midway and have been shooting primarily surplus 55 gr military FMJ and 55 gr Wolf ammo. The gun has shot flawlessly and accurately with all 55gr ammo. A quality product at a reasonable proce. Recently i decided that i wanted to do a hog hunt and decided to purchase some 62 and 75 gr ammo. At the range i could not get these heavier bullets to stop keyholing. I called Midway and AA to confirm that the 5.56 upper was in fact a 1 in 7 twist as indicated on the barrel. This twist should have stablized the heavier bullets. Both companies comfirmed that it was. The barrel was thoroughly cleaned again as recommended by Jacob at AA and off to the range i went to test it again with the 55 gr and 62 gr bullets. The 55 gr shot accurately, no keyholing and the 62 gr keyholed on every shot. One of the other guys at the range shot the 62 gr bullets through his AR15 and it printed nice little round holes, no keyholing. I emailed Jacob at AA, and sent him a picture of the target, and he told me to send the upper back so that the Adams Arms Armorer could check it out. He issued a RMA and three weeks later i have the upper back with a new barrel. No cost .... no questions asked. The gun is now printing nice little round holes with all ammo i put through it.

You cannot beat customer service like this. They were courteous and professional in their dealings with me. There was a problem and they stood behind their product and fixed it.

I just got an "invoice" from AA. $0.00 paid in full plus Fedex tracking number. I didnt pay a dime. How many customer service reps email you and say: "Gee, I saw your post on AR15.com and we can help you with this no longer produced item."  Then Jacob took time out of his normally super busy day and some how tracks down a gas key for me in God knows what corner of the plant and sends it to me.

That is ABOVE and BEYOND and deserves special recognition. I buy a LOT of stuff online...almost everything I buy is online. AA has given me consistently the best customer service I have ever experienced, starting with Jason Adams himself and carried on now by Jacob. Sheesh! Boy, do I feel blessed! Jacob, you have your place in Paradise all reserved!

Yep! The same for me years ago when I had a carbine length system. Listen. I need to "pay it forward" with all the goodwill that AA has bestowed upon me all these years. If you are an AA owner and you are DESPERATE and in TRUE NEED of a carbine length op rod, LMK. There is no PM system here is there? We'll figure something out.Use my email link, its open.  I will get it to you for free, the spring and retainer too. I will even pay the postage. I do this in the name of AA's Jacob who has recently been so great with my needs. I really would rather wait until someone with a true problem comes along as opposed to just sending this out as a free spare, "just in case" thing.

They have had their hiccups, but Jacob got it squared away.  All large companies have an occasional issue.  It's how they handle it that matters.....  AA is good to go in my book.

I also got a "saw your post on AR15.com" email from Jacob. that guy is awesome. I searched for months and he had my part to me in days. Big plus for the whole team over there.

I gotta add something here.  I had my issues with AA when they were going through their growing pains.  The ball got dropped, plain and simple.  With that in mind, Jacob contacted me via this website after me posting something small about my issue.  That man busted his ass and was patient with me to boot.  They not only made it right, but went out of their way to make me a happy customer.  This is what separates the amateurs from the companies that will be around for a long time.  People don't forget the companies who offer no excuse, but simply want to make you happy in the end, AA is that company.

Good on them. This is why my next piston rifle will be another AA.

Another AA+for AA.
A few years ago I sent my upper to them w/ their piston kit installed. I was using my Young BCG, but they gave me their BCG for nothing to solve the issue I was having.

Ditto for me, too. Had an issue with the forward assist out of the box. They sent a return label, in a week or so, I had a new upper. Cant beat that.

I have 5 different proto type piston systems that I have played around with for years. Hell, even I would buy the Adams Arms. It is simple, well made, reasonably priced(i wouldn't make em for that) and it works. I like the fact that it doesn't bypass gas . The stroke is so long it just bleeds back into barrel. There are alot of different systems now and some have alot of hype about gas pressure vortex and how it is softer on the piston and such.  I have spent hundreds of hours playing with piston systems. I think all that is mostly crap to look like you have something different. My experience is it is as simple as pressure-piston surface area and timing. Adams has it down. Craig

Mine had a missing bushing holding the operating  spring in place.
I told them I had bought it second hand and that I expected to pay for it.
But the wouldn't have it and still sent me a whole new rond for free

Gotta get my word in here too. I screwed up and bought the wrong length system and Adams has offered to help me out when they really don't have to. Good company.

Thanks for this.  I just put together my first AR-type rifle yesterday, using an AA upper.  It gives me confidence to know that they will stand behind their system if it goes wrong.  I took it to the range for the first time this morning, and it performed flawlessly.  For my next build I'll definitely be biased towards using another AA upper.

I recently purchased their 545x39 upper and had a small issue. Jacob leach was very helpful and I have to say that this company has some of the best customer service around. They ended up shipping me a brand new upper and even changed over my ventilation arms handicapped for me. Great guys and will buy all my ARs from them.

I have to agree with every comment here, AA customer service is above and beyond what your likely to get with some of the other companies out there.  Jacob helped me out real quick, It was a gas plug issue on a complete upper i purchased  that I most likely caused myself but they took care of it free of charge no hassles. It was Jacob's/ AA's customer service and there great product that lead me to purchase two more complete uppers an evo ultra lite and a tactical elite for the wife. No quality issues and not a single non operator related issue with them.   call me a fanboy if you must :-)   my LMT on the other hand was sent in 2x for gas block issues.
