I was installing an Adams Arms piston system fir the first time and was putting my bolt into the supplied Adams Arms carrier when I could only get it to go part way in.  I noticed that there is a small ridge that is machined in the carrier witch won't let the bolt slide all the way in.  Is this normal or am I missing something here.  The bolt slides in my other carrier just fine.  Any thoughts, ideas, etc?

Two possiblities. One-the machining on the BC is a tad short. Call AA and see if they can replace the BC.  I look at two of my AA bcs and they do not have the step in bc.
Two- Did you remove the gas rings?

I believe it has to do with what ar18 was saying...the step up in machining is to balance the bolt WITHOUT rings...just put the tail spring on it and remove the gas rings and it should be fine.

Thanks gents!  Pulled the gas seals and it slides in like a champ!
