Has anyone put a Bushmaster Gas Piston Retrofit Conversion Kit on their Bushmaster?  Are there any other recommendations for other manufacturers?

I have the Osprey conversion in my 22-year old Bushmaster M4 Carbine.  Watch the Osprey video (on their website).  It really is that easy.  (An older rifle will need the crud cleaned out of the front sight forging, but that's the only difference.)

Mine is a couple years old.  It's the ORC, and I replaced the gas block with a Bushmaster 3-rail low profile gas block.  I have have Troy Ind.  handguards, but I'm sure that I can file them down to make them fit.

The Bushmaster kit is $400.  How much is the Osprey?  I want quality, but I want to make sure that I don't overpay.

If your looking for a retrofit, then I agree with the above poster 100%.  Mine never failed me while I had that rifle.

Brownells sells the basic Osprey carbine system (what I have) for $339.  Delivery is very fast.  Pretty sure it used to be under $300.

Part No. 100-005-291WB

Comes in a can.  Easy conversion for standard part rifles.  I had to de-carbon my front sight from 20 years of crud.

De-Conversion is fast as well if you decide to go back to standard operation.

Seems to be every bit as reliable as my pair of LWRC M6 carbines but doesn't have the LWRC logo!

I am happy owner of both piston kits (Ares and Osprey).
Either is fine, but for the cost.
I would get Ares kit, it about 100 dollars cheap.
