Here are a couple of videos I made this morning using my little Panasonic FZ100.  The upper here is a Primary Weapons Mk116.  The lower is a Colt.  Good fitment and no signs of unusual wear in the buffer tube.

Ammo used in the first video is Golden Tiger 56gr steel cased.  The 2nd video is with M193 55gr ball.

Enjoy!

perhaps a dumb question, but will the mbus front sight hold up well in that position (i know that's the standard position on the pws)?  i recently picked up a pws, and i'm hesistant to shoot it substantially with the mbus front sight.

i'll probably replace the sight before shooting it, anyway, but just thought i'd ask just in case...

I've fired up to five 30rd mags in a row using the Colt lower as filmed above with no melting of the front sight.  I'm sure I could melt it but, realistically, it should be fine.

once you shoot it some more it wont get as hot. every new upper ive shot the first couple times have gotten very hot. it goes away with time. when i first shot my PWS 12.5 with AAC spr-m4 i had to stop shooting and put it down. after the 2nd time taking it out it was fine.

Slow Motion with a Surefire 60rd magazine in place.  Jump to about to forty seconds in for the shooting to start.

This seems odd. Why would this happen? Is there a scientific explanation for this?

I think its the grease from hands and other crap thats on the metal. like a stove or BBQ grill being fired up for the first time it smells and gives off a lot of heat.

I haven't found this to be the case at all.  Three mags as fast as the gun will run makes the top rail hot then and now.  And I'm passing 700 rounds fired...

I've run 5 mags, one in the gun and 4 on the chest as fast as I can and have no heat problems at all. I could see full auto like you have get very hot but any gun will do that auto.
