I bought a Samson carbine length Star-C quad rail for my Stag 8L.  It's the same rail that they send from the factory on their goods, so I figured it would be GTG.  I watched the You Tube video's for instruction, and pretty much followed them to the "T."  except for the hamfisted dremel jobbing I gave it.....

Anyway, I laid the top rail on, and there seems to be a contact point between the rail and the piston/gas tube.  I can not get the rail to lie flat because of it.  I don't want to force the rail over the tube for fear of damage to either the rail or the tube.

Any suggestions from the hive?

UPDATE:  There were two small tooling marks, they looked kind of like staking marks, at the end of the piston.  I used the dremel and smoothed them out, the rail fits over the tube fine now.  Thanks for anyone who viewed and pondered my dilemma.
