Finally got a LMT CQB MRP upper and I noticed that the bold assembly does not have gas rings, which make sense. Question to the masses is, can I use a bolt assembly with gas rings in a piton rig, or will that cause issues?  I don't think it will, but want to ask. The reason I ask is that I want to get one spare bolt assembly for my DI and piston AR.
Also, what bolt assembly would you recommend?

Just pop the gas rings off your spare bolt.

yes, you should be able to. I had the gas ring on my original PWS bolt, I also purchase a new one from PWS that has the spring thingy on it but without the gas rings. I have not heard of any issue with the bold that have or not have the gas rings on it.

If your Bolt Carrier is designed to accept a standard Bolt, there is no issue with leaving the rings on your spare..
If you also have a DI upper, then I would say leave the rings on in case you need it for that uppers Bolt Carrier.

LWRC's bolt still has the rings on it. Somewhere their literature (either manual/or website) states they left it on there to keep the bolt from falling out of the BCG while performing maintenance but it doesn't need it.

I asked the same questiion to Gene at LMT.  He said not to leave the gas rings on the bolt, as it may cause cycling issues.
