| I have the same upper. I have a few hundred through it, done during various drills/qualifications. Myself and 4 other instructors were putting it through the paces today. The upper has been 100% from the start and everyone that has shot it has been very impressed. I have the Troy Midevil muzzle brake on mine and it is also very nice. shot back to back with a buddies LWRC middy with a black weapons armory comp, we really couldn't tell any difference between the two rifles, other than the black weapons armory being noticeably louder! |

Great info, thanks. Was just doing some thinking and wondering about my MBUS on the gas block. What kinda heat gets generated there? Any tips on maintenance? I am very familiar with maint of my DI rifles, just wondering if these like it wet or any other special considerations. |
| Magpul says not to mount the MBUS on the gas block. I mounted my MBUS on the rail, but not the gas block.Even mounted on the end of the rail, the sight radius is still longer than a carbine length system. The block does vent the hot gas right there and I can see why the MBUS would not be good on the gas block. I will change out to a Troy front sight in the future, but for a back up, it works for now. Maintenance has been very easy compared to the DI system. very mininimal cleaning and lube. I haven't seen any signs of wear in the lower, BCG or the buffer. Might throw the POF roller in, just because it seems like a good idea in the long run. |

I like it. Have to agree though that you're soon to have a melted front MBUS. Not only does the block get hot, but the Adams system directs the spent gas from the system forward right towards it after it exits from the spigot and piston cup. I wouldn't doubt they'd get enough gas and heat to melt at the start of the top rail too. You might consider using some different BUIS. Nice rifle though. |

The MBUS came off one of my Spikes builds. I definitely want to replace with a Troy flip up. Have a Troy on my Noveske and love it. Just didnt have the cash for it yet and I think the wife is getting me those kind of goddies for X-mas. Not liking the AFG either. Looking to switch to a Tango Down shorty. |

BigBrakes, did you buy your upper directly Adam Arms or somewhere else? Rifle looks great. Thanks. I picked up the upper from Rainier Arms. They are local to me so I stopped by and did some comparison shopping and made my purchase on both my research and also on their recommendation. Its been my experience so far that if Rainier sells it and endorses it, its good to go. |

Moved the MBUS back tonight to prevent any melting issues. Still just a temp fix till I can get my hands on some Troy sights. What about mounting metal folding sights on the gas block, any issues with that? |

UPDATE: Finally took my new toy out today. Put approximately 500 rounds through my build with the Adams Arms upper. Fired a variety of my scrounge plinking ammo,
Federal 55gr PMC 55gr PMC 62 gr American Eagle 55gr It chewed it all up without a single issue. I had moved the MBUS back to right behind the gas block and no problems there either. ALso, cleaning was a breeze compared to my DI guns. Overall, ver happy with my newest rifle!!!!! |
