I just wanted to let everyone know what I found.
I've been having gas issues with my competition and general shooting rifle for a month or so. I changed a bunch of components and still had the issues. I decided to go gas piston and get away from teh issue altogether. I did some research and wanted to get a system that fit completely under a freefloating handguard. I found Osprey Defense and bought their OPS-416 system and a freefloat rail from MI designed for gas piston systems. I put everything together in about 40 minutes and fired 135 rounds of PMC, brass contractor, and Hornady steel cased ammo. No issued of any kind. Also, the cleanup was the fastest I've ever seen. There was very little to clean on the entire bolt carrier. I will shoot this more soon, but thus far I love this thing and thought I should share. Duane |

I'm glad you're happy with your purchase. I think it's great you're looking to improve your weapon. And I know that who gives a shit what I think...
That said, 135 rounds is not evena drop in the bucket. reliability is measured in thousands and tens of thousands of rounds. I'll stick with DI, I don't mind cleaning my weapon. |
Thats good you like DI but its the piston forum but every time someone starts a piston discussion in the tech forum it gets locked as a rehashed subject so no offense but go back there and stay out of the piston forums ..enough with the ill stick with DI this forum exists for a reason and the reason is this is what happened in tech before we had this place to go here its usually piston system vs piston system not DI vs piston.
