Hey, does anybody know of a full review of sig's first ar design?
Im wondering if its at least on par with a ruger sr556. Ive been looking around for a nice affordable piston ar, and im wondering if buying a sig will be a thing i will regret. So with a price tag of $1300 is it a good buy, or should i wait and save up for a lwrc, hk, pof, or maybe even an acr? |

Handled one at the GOVSEC show in DC last week. Seemed solid, but the SIG rep behind the counter didnt seem to know much about it. Yep thats about right I spent an hour with a LE rep going over why the sights on their original rifle were a big "F" he seemed not to understand even the most basic logic and information about what a fighting weapon needed. I was so pissed I wrote a two page letter to the tech department about my perception of the piss poor sights on a rifle marketed to LE as duty ready. I received a nice letter back and info that they were in the process of fixing them and I got some sig swag.....gigity gigitty good! |
I called Sig in January, after reading the American Rifleman article on it. The rep told me late summer . With that much time, I wonder how many features/aspects of the gun will change between the time AR reviewed it and it comes to market. Sig is notoriously late, and I wonder when we will actually see them, hope I'm wrong. I also asked about the 716, .308 version. After some uh...um....the rep said it should be after the 516. I understand the need to gauge market demand, but this is ridiculous.
