I just ordered an Adams Arms Kit, and the one piece BC will be here soon.  I bought a 7" DD Lite rail to go with it.

I don't have the tools, or know how to retrofit this stuff to my LMT 10.5".  I've had some gunsmithing work done by ADCO, and of course it was great.  At a local shop, the guys sure seem to know what they are doing.  Their work (only seen, not shoot) looks pretty damn good.  How hard isi it to do this work on an upper?  Should I let the local shop do it or should I send it to ADCO.

I like supporting good local business when possible.  Sending everything off to ADCO (across the country from me), is a nig PITA.  They work quick at ADCO, but UPS  GROUND is S-L-O-W.  The local guys could do it faster (they said a couple days) about $50 cheaper...about $75 cheaper considering shiping to ADCO.  What y'all think?

The work is not that complicated as long as the shop DOSE work on AR15's. I've seen some butchered guns from local shops that all they were doing was instaling a rail.

I hate to say it but my vote would be do it my self

Then ADCO.

The Adams Arms gas piston system is very easy to install but if your not comfortable doing it yourself you cant go wrong with ADCO
Thanks

I had a gunsmith fuck up the instillation of my Adams piston and to make matters worse he black locktited my vortex flash hider as well. The good folks at Adams went out of their way to fix the problem. Kudos to them. This was Lilja's recommended smith. My brother had a similar smith butchering experience on a very nice .308 sniper rifle with a different smith who came similarly highly recommended. Now I do all the work myself, or allow the maker of the part to do the work. I am paranoid. I would go with ADCO, Adams or buy the tools yourself.
