Keene, NH – Samson Manufacturing, Inc. announces the release of the new SX Rail System at the 2017 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
Samson Manufacturing, an established innovator in weapon system enhancements, adds the SX Rail System to its portfolio of industry leading designs with the proprietary SX attachment system. The SX features a slim profile in available lengths from 4 to 18 inches. Options include integrated QD attachment points or slender ‘slick side’ profile, and M-LOK™, KeyMod, or 1913-style accessory mounting. The proprietary SX clamping mechanism (patent applied for) features captive clamps which seize the supplied barrel nut from opposing directions for a vice-like effect. The result is a rock-solid mounting surface for attaching lights, lasers, optics, sling mounts and other compatible accessories. SHOT Show attendees can view the new SX Rail at the Samson booth, number 20327 on the main level, as well as their new M-LOK™ accessories.

I have one of their Star 2 piece quad rails. Guess I'm old school yet, as I just like tried and true quad rails.
Not really interested the the flavor of the month designs that keep coming on the market. But that doesn't mean I won't look into the unit at the NRA meetings later this year. Can't get into shot. |

Kin of reminds me of SLR Rifleworks' handguard . Word on weight? |

You have the phrases "old school" and "outdated" mixed up. Mlok and keymod are not flavor of the month, they are industry standard. Not everyone requires 6 miles of rails avalable at all times. Some of us are only part time operators. |

yes, it is a legit concern...I do own a rail mount LMT 40mm m203 grenade launcher. These days it's actually pretty difficult to find a rail that has a full pic rail at 6 o'clock and is durable enough to handle the recoil/abuse that a 203 dishes out. |
Bryan Ray, of Team Samson, walks you through removing a Samson EVO rail for a new SX Rail in no time at all. A great intro if you haven't seen an SX rail up close.

Any news on how this rail is performing?
The install looks like a breeze but I was a little concerned about the rail not fitting snug on the barrel nut without the screws being tightened down. Anyone have some knowledge on that subject that can help me decide if it is or isn't an issue? It looks amazing by the way... |

I put about 200 rounds through my rifle yesterday. First rounds since swapping Evo to the SX. It has so much venting with the Mlok slots that it never got more than warm to touch.
I really like the smaller diameter. Makes it easy to clamp against support. The card table chair is one of my favorite props because nothing is flat on it and everything is round and smooth. Difficult since it's slick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE2feN3F2XI |
