This coupler is designed by shooters for shooter and joins 30 round PMags by removing their base plate and inserting the magazine into our magazine coupler. This coupler is made from high quality aluminum and hard anodized to provide an ultra durable platform to support 60 rounds of .223 ammunition. We designed this to be everything we wanted in a coupler. Easy to remove and clean, easy to grab as the contours make it feel like grabbing a single magazine, the proper clearance for your controls, and ULTRA durable. The unique (patent pending) design also allow several options for easily stowing mags in your packets or belt. These WILL not work with the 20 round mags (for those LEO who carry a short mag on the rack) once we finish this, we will most likely have a version for a 20 on the right 30 on the left specifically for LEO who carry an AR/M4 in the rack shortly. Whether is is for duty use, competition, or recreation the Firebird is the solution for that extra firepower at your fingertips. Visit our website Springer Precision for more photos or to buy. Dealer inquiries are welcome

Looks like it to me.
I couldn't figure out what the piece in the middle of the mags in the picture was. It's a coupler on two extended Pmags ETA- I've never used a mag coupler before but all the pictures I've seen the 2 mags are offset. Is there a reason for that while these are parallel to each other? Thanks |

Thanks I believe the piece in the middle is a separate afermarket accessory that lengthens the 30 rd pmag to hold 45 rounds. I believe it is made by Nordic and comes highly recommended by many who use it for 3 gun to hold extra rounds for some stages so you don't need to do a mag change. |

Yes, the lower picture shows someone who used the Nordic Pmag extension and our Firebird coupler.
Conventional couple mags are staggered, but with this design and the clearances we have, they do not need to be staggered as they are not strapped together, we have a gap in them that is large enough that you can use the controls and the gun operates without interference and it makes it very easy to grab the magazines. |

I can understand this reasoning, but under stress with gloved hands I can see an operator not being able to get to the mag release button, due to the fine motor skills involved in getting one's finger between the magazine and the magwell. Good on you guys for being the first to produce a Pmag coupler, but personally, I'll hold out for a staggered version |

The magazine in no way covers the magazine release, you could have a mitten on and still activate it (I've actually done that.)
I'll get a detailed photo and post it on our site, so folks with bear paws can see they will have no issue getting the mag release. We will have a staggered version for the 20 rounds on the right 30 on the left for those who want a shorter profile with spare ammo on board. |
