Hello
I need to replace a upper receiver  on a old Colt 9mm carbine
Is it the same receiver that was used on the .556 cal SP1 carbines

Thanks for your help..

IIRC there is no hole in the front for a gas tube. May be other differences.

Some folks have said there was no cam pin recess  bump on the side opposite the ejection port. My two mid 1990's Colt 633 and 635 uppers had them. So do many pictured in The Black Rifle 2.

Regardless of original configuration you can use any modern upper for a 9mm build. Just make sure of the pivot pin diameter, and if you get one with gas tube hole or forward assist, you might need or want to plug up those unused holed.
