I bought one of the early SP1 uppers from the shop in TN that had a bunch a while back, hoping to find an SP1 lower in the approximate correct serial number range (somewhere around 13000, IIRC). I found one, but it was a little out of my price range at the time, and haven't seen another since. So, could I take an 80% A2 lower, re-profile it and enlarge the front pivot holes to the SP1 screw pin diameter? I know it wouldn't be 100% correct, but I wouldn't want it to be, as I wouldn't want it passed off as an original down the road.
Reading what I just wrote, it sounds like a lot of work and expense for something that I'll just end up replacing (hopefully) someday. I'll probably use this 80% on another build I'm gathering parts for, but I'm still curious to know if, even with the off center hole on the upper, it can be done. |

I would probably just buy a Nodak 601 lower and use an SP1 upper bushing. Attached File Attached File Attached File |
