Hey everyone, I have finally gotten a few of my A1's done. I am in love right now with the carbines. The carbines (629 and 733) are really really light. I am shocked at how light they are. They feel much better in my hands than any of my other AR's. I also really love the M203 and my 604 clone. I have two more to put together and I hope to have those done in a few months. I'm getting off track, so, let me jump back into what and why I started this thread.
I brought the rifles home the other day and I sat them down beside one of my M4's. The M4 that I built has the MagPul hand guards. After holding one of the 20" rifles with triangle hand guards and picking up the MagPul M4 I noticed that the hand guard on the MagPul M4 feels a lot like the triangle hand guards on my 604 clone. Has anyone else thought the same thing? Do you think MagPul had that in mind when they made the hand guards? It really caught me off guard at how it felt so similar. Makes me wonder why no one has made something that feels this good in the hand over what is on today's M4's. I really like the feel of the skinny hand guards and the triangle hand guards. The MagPul feels very close. |

I love the MOE handguards... I do too. I thought I wouldn't like them but they feel right in the hand. I think I might change out my other M4 for a set of them. I might need to get another A1 upper and build using modern parts. I really love the A1 and starting to wonder why I ever built an M4. |
