I'm assembling the parts for a 610 and was wondering who you guys would recommend to do the colt engravings on the lower? It is a Nodak lower so I would need someone with an ffl.
Thanks, Mark |

Anyone have examples of retro markings those companies have done? I know you said retro markings but these are the galleries on the two sites: http://www.orion-arms.com/custom-engraving.html http://identmarking.com/index.php/firearm-gallery I don't personally have any examples but if NoDak themselves recommends them I'd say they probably know what they are doing. Just my 2 cents. |

Couple of questions popped in my head. My retro SBR is on a BCM lower. First, is there someone that fills in previous engraving, and then can re-engrave? And second, would doing something like that be illegal, or legal as long as s/n is left on? Another thought; could I have my SBR engraving moved to another position on the receiver, and have that side filled in? |

Has anyone ever engraved their short barrel, instead of the receiver? According to the BATFE web site, either is acceptable. But I would think it's a big PIA to engrave or stamp a round barrel.
Not endorsing--just asking. ETA: Chapter 6 Making an NFA Firearm by a non-licensee 6.2.1. The serial number must be engraved or stamped on the receiver of the firearm and the caliber, model, and identification of the maker must be engraved on the barrel or frame or receiver of the weapon.96 The marking and identification requirements for a maker are the same as for a manufacturer. Refer to section 7.4 for a detailed discussion of the requirements. |
