| Has anyone on here used US Anodizing for any receivers, parts or completes? I have a PD trade in SP1 that I would love to have refinished. I posted this in the Colt Forum and was sent here. |

Almost EVERY member here in retroland has used Victor (U.S.Anodizing) at one time or another. Many of us, several times. Someone mentioned they take a long time,,,funny, but the last time I sent something it was 3 weeks door to door. And as mentioned, Mike and Harlan (NDS) use Victor exclusively for all their anodizing.
ETA, look to the right of my m1sniper name above |

that people use him on their $30K rifles tells the tale. type III is so different from type II it shouldn't even be compared. it's actually hard to drill through type III. he had to raise his prices a while back, but then I'd hate to pay his electric bill. keeping a thousand gallons(?) of sulphuric acid at 29 degrees probably takes kilowatts. even if you could find someone to do type III no one's got the expertise he does with the shades and colors. that comes with years of experience. if you want it done right, Victor's the man. |

I inquired a couple weeks ago about using his service and he said no custom work until September. Well, one time a couple of years ago, he had a similar note on his website, I didn't call or write, I packed my item, added cash, enough to cover work and return shipping with insurance, and a clear note as to what I wanted done. Came back completed in 4 weeks. PERFECT as always. |

I'd use Victor again in a heartbeat. Quoted:

U.S. is expensive, slow, and GOOD. Where else are you going to get type III anodizing in the exact Colt color that you want? His work is worth the wait, in my opinion. I'd use Victor again in a heartbeat. I would use U.S. again too, and I have, and will. I wouldnt want anyone to take my previous comments as complaints, they are not. It seems in this day and time that almost everyone wants their stuff.......RIGHT NOW, CHEAP, and PERFECT. In my experiences with Victor my parts have always been perfect, but they werent cheap and they were not fast.(not fast by most peoples std, because most people want it RIGHT NOW) Please take those points into consideration when having work performed by him. |

+1 for Victor Pricey, but delivers on his work with quality. Good work takes time. Would use him again. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d13/drshame/BetterMatch.jpg Colt USGI M16 Upper, US Anodizing RRA Lower to match "Old Colt". Damn good match, perfect job, no extra marks or assembly blems. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d13/drshame/NewColor.jpg These photos alone have made my decision for me. It looks great. The only thing i need to pick up now is a set of Triangular Handguards. Just need to get the money together for that. |
