I just picked this up from a surplus store on a road trip, Colt marked without the Armalite info but it has the C clip on it. Is this rare or desirable at all? Or is it just one of Colts weird in-between we're gonna use what we have in stock type thing?

I only ask because retroblackrifle only has that roll mark shown as late colt, but it has the riveted pin.

Yes, it is much earlier than most that you find, and it is collectible, even with its typical rusted welds
