Anyone seen an Armalite AR-15 waffle mag with this type of follower?

I looked on google, but didn't see any like this.

That looks like the metal follow used in the full curve 30 round mags

Wow. Full curve, Huh?

It does not, however, look like any waffle followers I've seen. What is the rivet in back attached to?

Here is a picture I found of what I believe is an early full curve

Yeah that's a legit full curve with the correct follower. Different than the follower in the waffle mag though.

I've seen the stamped Waffle mag follower before. Tgus has photos of one and may even own one. It's the only one I've ever seen until now.

I think you may have found something very early and very rare.

There is a pic floating around here in the archives that shows a few variations of the steel followers used in waffle mags. I just haven't used the correct key words to find it yet.

Our original has an aluminum follower.

This is my original waffle with the stamped follower. I don't know if they are earlier then the Alum or not.

I guess its very early or very late, not my examples to be found

Considering the fact that the "bullet" on the follower is the long style found on later mags, and not the short style that you usually see on waffle mag followers, I would GUESS that it is a very late example.  Way cool, and now SOMETHING ELSE that I will have to be on the lookout for to add to my collection.

Did anyone else notice the difference between the floorplate on the mag with the stamped metal follower, and the other floorplates?

There are no "Locking Tabs" on the floorplate of the magazine with the stamped follower.

BINGO.  The other two mags with stamped followers that I have tracked down are also devoid of the "locking tabs" on their floorplates as well.

I stand corrected. There it is. Nice shot.

I have one with an S and one with no S. Will need to dig them out and examine more closely.
