Hey Guys,

Im expecting my rewelded braceman lower back next week and was wondering what people are using to finish there lowers with? I have used norrells in the past but have a hell of a time getting into all those nooks and crannies and especially getting an even coating in the magwell, I dont mind sending it off but wanted to check in here first!

Using the Norell's....Heat the part and reheat as needed to maintain the temp of the part, turn air pressure as well as the amount of paint flowing through your gun down will help give an even coat and allow you to get into the tight spots and not over build material on the high edges.

However if I went to the trouble of a re-weld I would get a professional to anodize it.

It's my understanding that the weld won't take anodizing so you'll have to Duracoat, Cerracoat, or some other type of finish.  I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I didn't know about the weld not accepting anodizing.....I guess if OP does feel comfortable using the Norrels he could send it to John Norrel himself to have it coated.

I sent my 656 upper that brace did off to John (Norrel) to have him coat it for me and it turned out to be a perfect match for my lower. He does great work.

p.s. we have too many john's in the retro world between JT, Braceman and Norrel it could get confusing.
