Dumb question, but do you typically get your 80% lower engraved before or after you mill it out?  I'd assume after, just in case you screw it up, but I've seen pics of unfinished lowers with engravings done in here.  Wasn't sure if it's a matter of shipping the finished firearm vs an 80%.

Engrave before then mill then anodize.  Do it this way because once you mill them you need an ffl who engraves to get the work done otherwise a non ffl can work on an 80 percent receiver.

Unless you are going to SBR it there is no reason it needs to be engraved.

It is a good idea to put some kind of unique identifier on it but the is no law saying it needs even a serial number if you are keeping it as a rifle for yourself.

I understand that.  I meant more in the way of retro markings.  This is a GAU-5A/A build.
