Is any maker better than another? Was there any differences between the years they were produced? Any rarer than the rest?

I found this website that may be helpful.

bayonets

Personally, I have an early M7 bayonet made by Imperial and another made by the Bauer Ord. Corp. I also have an M4 bayonet made by the Utica Cutlery Company (WWII).

It is not so much the Colt rollmark, but who made it for Colt and when. There are new Colt M7 bayonets on the market for less than $30. For an authentic Vietnam Era Colt M7 bayonet with scabbard, what I have seen is that they are going for anywhere from $100-$200. That, of course, depends on condition and the manufacturer.
