Now available, new production flat slip ring:
$16.99 Retail We've got more retro projects on the way, including revisions to our M16A1 20" barrel. Revisions on that barrel include proper front sight base height (non-F marked) and the inclusion of the new slip ring. Additional barrel lengths are still coming. Also, there are some particularly neat products coming for SHOT Show 2016, which the retro crowd will certainly appreciate. |

Outstanding! I've been a Brownell's customer for more years than I care to admit (starting long before the web was even a concept) and have never had a bad experience with them. It's great to know they're still responsive to market demands--even for a market segment as small as us retro nuts.
Thanks! |

While it's cool to say retro retro, I don't think that's the right description. How about Colt reproductions? And what effect will the reproduction parts have on the real retro market?? -W I think the bigger concern is telling the difference between authentic parts from reproduction parts. Not being familiar with what to look for could lead to people being taken advantage of. |

The new production slip rings are black. We went with black to coincide with the upcoming release of another product, as we will be using black anodizing on the new item as well. Retro part that's aluminum? That only leaves the upper, lower, vinyl acetate stock and receiver extension, seeing how receiver extensions are available and the stocks aren't anodized, are we getting receivers? |

To distinguish the slip ring from original parts, we added a small groove to the internal section. If you see that, it's a new production part. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=81259 I'm always appreciative when manufacturers help preserve the hobby by marking new items

I hope the advertising for them specifically states reproduction parts and not retro. I'm a Brownells customer, thanks for the parts, catalogs, and good service! -W |

http://s28.postimg.org/fg1z103p9/image.jpg I picked one of these up today at the Brownells distribution center. It's dark gray in color. Those going for a very light "SP1 gray" will want to refinish it. For my purposes it's perfect. It's a very nice reproduction piece. Here's an iPotato pic, comparing the finish color with the steel feed lips of a Lancer magazine. I'm on vacation, so this was the first thing I had handy with which to make a comparison. I bet it's "thirsty" a few drops of oil rubbed in and it will be nice and black. |
