Howdy. So I'm trying to match the paint on my LG outdoors colt kit and I'm having problems. The rustoleum Dark Grey is way too dark. And the light grey Is way too light.

Help!

First off, if you are being that OCD (and I don't mean that in a bad way at all) about the color, then you absolutely don't want to "paint" it. That dark primer looks great but will come off with a finger nail easily. You want to invest in alumahyde, norrells or duracoat and have a real finish that will last a long time. There are a number of threads around about them, I like the alumahyde dark park ii and have used it a bunch. good luck.

Although he MAY be OCD enough to just have the darn thing reanodized!

And by the way, its CDO - in alphabetical order like it should be!

I found a can of aluminahide (sp) and got it sprayed this morning. Well see how it turns out.

If you 1) thoroughly degrease the stuff, 2) wipe it with vinegar and let dry, and 3) allow to cure for 48 hours in lower heat (100 degrees or so) the Rustoleum is pretty tough.

What lower do you have?  I'm guessing that's the part you are trying to match to the upper.  There are scores of posts here where people have done exactly that.

I've used Cerakote Sniper Grey, H Series, bake-on.  It requires a bit of capacity to prep, degrease, spray, and bake the parts.

Its an aero precision. I know its not correct but I'm not waiting a year for a Nodak and paying close to 200 bucks for it.
