Now that I am done with Boot camp, SOI and am getting settled into my unit in the fleet i have some spare time to get back into building rifles. I want to start an XM177e2 and an 653(A1 carbine) for the wife.
IS Doublestar still the way to go for carbine barrels Barrels? Has anybody released a decent copy of the shiny aluminum CAR buttstocks? And is ADCO still the place to go to get barrel work done for the XM177e2? Thanks guys, been out of the game for awhile and just trying to catch up on lost time. |

I believe so and they are nice barrels just the "wrong" twist rate Has anybody released a decent copy of the shiny aluminum CAR buttstocks? Not really, a couple options here but none as good as the original. You can paint a fiberlite stock with Krylon Fusion gloss black and it looks pretty close or get a Bushmaster, Essential Arms, etc aluminum stock and have it powder coated. And is ADCO still the place to go to get barrel work done for the XM177e2? Adco is a good choice from everything I hear or one of our forum members John Thomas over at http://retroarmsworks.com/ Thanks guys, been out of the game for awhile and just trying to catch up on lost time. Welcome back to the fold! |
