Ok so I have a guy who is going to make a replica of the 1 piece AR-10style fiberglass hand guard  on prototype AR-15.
Does anyone have any dimensions for a original one? I need length, diameter of front and rear, and measurements of the distance of vent hole
From the front to the first hole and from the rear to the closest hole.

Any help would be appreciated. He's going to make a mold and then use woven fiberglass and try to replicate original look.
I'm getting one brown colored and one black to replicate different prototypes.

Thanks
Robert

I got some dimensions at work, I can post them tomorrow.
I've been wanting to do the same thing but don't have any time for it right now.

That would be great.
I can keep you updated on everything, and if you like the final product
I can get more made.

Most of us here will be looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.  Good luck!

I assume you want to replicate the handguards on prototype number 1.
This is what I got from scaling the pictures on page 58 and 59 of ‘The Black Rifle’.

Proto #1 handguards:
Length - 11.95”
Rear diameter - 2.09”
Front Diameter - 1.46”
Groves start point - 1.55”  (from receiver end)

The interesting part is that the gas block on the first rifles were closer to the receiver.
Youll have to move your gas block back 11/16”.
Otherwise add 11/16” onto the handguard length.
