That's going to be nice, I see Florida on your lower ? Well are you down here or up there ? I'm stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus, GA. However, my home of record is still in FL. So I set my trust in FL and registered the gun there. Then I submitted a 5230.20 to bring the gun to Georgia. I'll do the same with this gun once the stamp comes back. |

Took the XM177 .22 shooting the other day, this thing is sick-

I'm kind of working on one of these, but will use a rifle stock instead of collapsable... Oops! Are you going for something like this? http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i479/StevenFBuis/ThaiFAC71.jpg Has that been ghetto rigged or was there an actual factory carbine that came like that? |

To my knowledge the XM177s were never produced with the full stock from the factory. I have however seen several photos of it in this configuration. It was probably one of those things where the original lower broke or something so they just slapped the upper on an XM16E1/M16A1 lower. |
| At first fixed stock carbines turned me off - they just looked odd - then I tried one. I love the ergonomics. I am once more planning an E1 build - although going back to my plans for a middy E1 is tempting. With a GP style sling, they handle perfectly IMO. If I build an E1 it will have a fixed stock. The rifle buffer is nearly identical in weight to a 9mm buffer. I just picked up another rifle buffer to modify to a 4.6 oz weight per a members directions - figure it might work well in the 605 and maybe too in a build like this. |
