Anybody have one? I am wondering how durable they are before purchasing one. Any info would help.

They work great and are fun as hell, my favorite retro build is a trigger charging handle upper on a slabside lower, both NDS parts.  They are plenty durable, and confuse the tactical gunners greatly when they go to charge it!

Just a heads up, NDS is working on a new version of the trigger charging handle upper to go with the new prototype lower. So you might want to hang loose for a bit and get the model.

I  really want one the the trigger charging handle uppers.  I still want to do a fantasy faux-prototype AR, using 601 lower, trigger charging handle upper and NDS prototype handguards. I want a 1/7 twist pencil barrel, though, so I can short the MK262 Mod 1 77 grain OTM Black hills stuff.  That will probably be my next build.

To make the upper look right you realy need to lower the top of the receiver, hope Spud is looking

Here's my NDS trigger upper & 601 lower...I love it.

It's a blast to shoot and brings numerous questions at the range.

It looks like on the original they cut the there area under the carry handle down.

Those UPS drivers and facility staff are working their butts off right now.  Since it was slated for today, I'm betting you'll get it on Tuesday...then let the fun begin.

This reminds me, I need to find some aluminum to make the single rib sliprings.

How does it compare to what became the standard charging handle?  I've been interested in one as I want to do an AR-15 build meant to look like one of the AR-10 carbines.  It's too bad there isn't a charging handle available that includes a forward assist like on the Portuguese AR-10s.
