Hello gang,
Does anybody have any good pictures of
The colt 656 sniper rifle and it's model specific features,
Front sight base, upper, scope mount or engravings?
And maybe it's history, was it ever deployed? Who has them now,etc....
Thanks for the help

Well you aren't going to believe it,.
Since there just isn't much imfo
To be found on this one anywhere,  I figured I would call the only person
Who seems to have some,,,,,, Reed knight!  ( no we didn't actually talk)
I explained my situation and  asked if they wouldnt mind taking some picture for me?
the  man said , " well,,,,, let me call you back".
When he called back he had a 656 in his hand and said the in house
Photographer would take some pics and send them my way!!

Bad news,,, I was asked NOT to post them anywhere.
He did tell me something interesting about the rifle,
It is engraved with " colt ar15". Nothing special and no model
Specific number. He also said its impossible to use the iron sights,
With or without the scope,,, interesting

I know this is pretty low tech but I can see that there might be an issue using the iron sights.

Your sight line picture is not correct...The rear sight is a flip up sight, KINDA like the KAC 300 but not exactly. It is not like the standard peeps .

here is another google pictures of some 656s and there is also a retro middy and some other oddballs too.
*this picture has been out for years and years, among others

Ya I have this one,  and the other other 3 that I found through 100 pages on google .
they guy I talked to said it was a standard A1 aperture
And  it doesn't line up with the fsb at all,
he also said it isn't possible to use with scope off as it doesn't clear the receiver.,basically useless

That would be sweet.

A comparison might be the NDS-32, which took them a long time to sell out of. They did finally sell out after an up-tick in interest, generated by this forum, in proto builds. So, it could happen.

Another thing might be how interested NDS is in building one themselves...
