I am shopping around for a barrel for my carbine project.  I like the Bushmaster super light but the description concerns me:

NOTE: due to diameter at muzzle, no "slip-on/pinned" type muzzle brakes will fit this barrel use only 1/2"x 28 T.p.I. threaded accessories.

I am planning on using the Brick moderator and ring  ( blind pinned)  after having the barrel shortened.  His stuff is listed as 1/2x 28 so I know it will attach but what about the ring? BM lists the barrel as being .625   under the front sight but .57 at the muzzle.  Anyone here use this set up?  Thanks in advance.

You wont have a problem at all using the BM superlight. Look for my recent post of my 629 for example, my setup is basically what you are looking to do.  The flare at the end of the uncut superlight barrel doesnt allow for a slip over device but if you are cutting it off, it wont matter.  The final length of the barrel before the Brick mod is attached is somewhere around 12.75".  Good luck!

Thank you sir!  Now I just have to find one in stock and from what I've been reading that's not easy to do.  Oh well if it was easy everybody would do it.  Thanks again.

PS: what year of Honda 2 stroke do you have?

HAD an '03 before we moved to the coast, I sold it because of no where to ride where we live.  My son(now 16) was on a CR125 and the wife rode a sport Polaris ATV.  Motocross and trails were our life in Georgia and middle N. Carolina.  In a couple of years, we will move from here and my family will get back to it!

The Bushy barrels have been backordered for over a year at this point, unless something has changed. A lot of folks who order from them buy the "post ban" barrel since its going to be chopped to 12.75 and threaded anyway. Those are probably out of stock now too, like the "xm style" flashhiders.

I ended up with spikes, daniel defense and DEZ arms LW barrels. Most of those are in stock direct and under 200 bucks.

I gave up waiting on Bushmaster and picked up a new Colt 6720 lightweight barrel on Gunbroker.

And they will lie to you on the phone about when they'll have new stock in.

J&T makes a pretty decent alternative.
