I had the C7 upper laying around and wanted to do something different.  I had it configured as a dissapator and was thinking about a 605 clone, but I really don't have a lightweight so decided why not do a 723.

I had the barrel reprofiled and this is the final result.  I will swap out the LMT ambi for a standard selector once my new LPK comes in.

cool.  that lone star ordnance grip gives it an idf look.  of course it needs to be beat to hell to be an idf build.

who did the reprofiling on the barrel?  what did it start as?  the shoulder looks good on it.

I might throw a reg A2 or A1 grip on there next.

It was originally a M4 profile.  Had the whole barrel done at the width of the 203 cut.  I'm not going to mention who did the barrel work though as it was a miserable experience.  No one local though.

I need to find someone here in Texas that can do that kind of work.  Know anybody that can cut/thread/reprofile?

i've always sent it out.  someone asked in the texas htf and the answer was that a few can do a simpled cut/thread/recrown but nothing major.  and not any place affordable or timely.

DAMMIT!  Well once I get my trust done and get the ATF to sign off, maybe I will have cooled off enough to use that place again.

I think I'd keep the Lone-Star grip.  I got one specifically for my IDF build.  Not many of us have them so it's something that sets you apart from most.

Of course you do an SBR and go IDF you have to accessorize.

Don't forget the bayonet because now fits correctly.

Love the lone star grip on my A2, I wish it had the door though.

Maybe I will then.  I do love the Lone Star grip.  I don't think I have particularly large hands but I run MIADs with the B3 on all my other rifles and do prefer the thicker grips.
