Well guys, I have been away for a while concentrating on a few things. One is my MINI Cooper S (Hummer H3 is gone), selling some of my firearms, and the other being an XM177E2 build.

Here is the MINI.

And here are a few pics of the XM177E2 build.

This has been one of the most rewarding builds I have ever done.

I like them both!

My wife has a Clubman S and you can revoke my mancard right now if you would like but I like driving it! Fun car but I wish it was a stick but she doesn't know how to drive manual.

I also just did an XM build and they feel pretty darn good. I just picked up a Colt scope for it as well on a trade and did a painted stock to look more like the original since the prices have gone crazy on the real ones.

did you weather it yourself or did nds do it?  it looks great.

need a no tick safety though.    that bolt catch looks a little different too, needs more lines.

I know exactly what you mean about the stocks. Mine has an original vinyl acetate coated Colt stock. I located it in Alaska. Cost me 3 bills. Definitely not cheap, but I wanted the real deal.

NDS did the Battlefield Pickup finish on the receivers, CH, and buffer tube. I did the rest of it. The stock is an original Colt. The LPK pieces are all current production. I had a really hard time trying to source vintage pieces. I look at it this way, only the trained eye will be able to tell the difference. If one day I can ever get some vintage pieces, I will quickly swap them out.

Here's mine. I was going more for the retro look without going crazy so it's an A2 lower with a light-weight midlength as I don't like the look of the A2 but didn't want to SBR another one...I call it the XM177E1.5 I just picked up an actual Colt scope in trade for it so I need to swap it out.

I have an original Colt stock but it's on something else and find it hard to justify the cost of another especially since the rest isn't correct anyway.

Tell me more about your Cooper. Is it a GP? You can do it by PM if you prefer to keep things retro in the thread.

Nice looking build!    Had a question on the safety selector.  The left side of the safety looks unusual, the knurled part extends up further towards the middle.  Do you know who made it?

My understanding is that the safeties with the elongated raised portion that extends to the middle of the safety are a new production thing.  I honestly like them better but they do kind of stick out on a retro build don't they?

Interesting.  First one I've seen.  It's an eye catcher

I got the LPK from Palmetto State Armory. I really need to find a correct safety.

I think that E2 will work nicely in and out of the little Cooper

I'll trade you a Colt M16A1 modded to semi for the one on your gun.

I just got my PSA lpk in the mail tonight. Did you use the naval jelly trick on your lpk? If so I take it there were no problems? Thanks!
