I have one just like that, in similar condition, except without the duplex crosshairs.  It is an early Japanese scope.

L to R: Made in USA, early Japanese, later Japanese and even later Japanese:

Posted in another thread that wasnt getting any traction, so Is there a timeline for the dates these scope were produced ?
I have a U.S. 3x20, a later Japanese 3x20, and a 4x20 (not shown above).

I'm trying to match the scopes to the time period for my retro rifles, so they an be paired up.

Reason for no traction is that to date,,no one knows for sure the dates on the different versions. I know the "Made in US" scope that came with my rifle was purchased with the rifle brand new by the original owner on Nov 16,1964.I don't know when they were 1st made,or when changed to the Made in Japan ones.
ETA,,the ONLY one made in the US was the one marked Made in US,,the others were all Japan made from what Boywonder has been able to establish. And for the record,,Colt did NOT make the Made in US ones either.Realist made them for Colt.

i've had a hard time documenting the variants much less the timeline.  if you find nib examples, you could look at the dates on the manuals which some of them had but i bet they used the same set and possibly the same date for all the changes.
