I guess I've been working too hard. I meant to go by my FFL today and pick up my new NDS E1 blem lower and prototype HGs, but between drinking beer, watching NCAA and sorting through my AR parts (apparently I'm finally 'catching up ' with some of you) I spaced it, and now he's closed. It's three weeks to the next 'Sedona adjustment time' but the good news is, I should have the 2nd A1 lower plus some other parts (A repro 601 CH and waffle mag) then, so it'll be a banner day, plus will save me $25 in fees. Oh well. You guys really need to step up to the bat and buy more NDS stuff. I don't give shit what you buy - buy it all! Buy more than you need. Remember, they are your 'local' hardware store for AR parts. They are making stuff that you'll never see again. This is the 2nd run of 601 CH's and I was one of the ones who said I'd buy - finally am doing it. These guys are paying bills just like we are - we need to SUPPORT them! Get off your asses and BUY AN NDS PRODUCT TODAY. Really, what's an extra $50 every month for 3 months? That'll get you a quality receiver as good as it gets, AND you get to feel good about helping out a 'brother'. C'mon people, if you don't buy it, they'll stop making it! FWIW, a lot of NDS AR products translate into the modern day. MK12's and MK18's for example were built originally with A1 lowers. NDS lowers are stronger than A1 lowers, and close to A2 lowers in strength - plus you have the plus of having superior craftsmanship. What would you rather pay for? A name or quality? LMT, KAC, LaRue,LMT Colt, whatever. They got THEIR names for a reason.NDS has the rep they do for a reason. I'd stack an NDS lower against anything those 'name brand' manufacturers are producing. You have to remember : small shop = 'custom'. They can afford to pay attention to individual components in a way larger companies can't. They will likely get bigger, and while I hope on the one hand for their continued success, I like supporting a small shop. I like the personal attention. You guys who are not buying are missing the boat. I just wish I could afford more of their lowers right now. Tier 1 for sure, no matter what the hivemind says. Rant over. |

I am currently saving towards one of the prototype lowers that Mike said are coming in a few months. When your medically retired it's hard to squeeze the turnip for more, but I'm trying! Could you call my wife and tell her I need more toy money please? I'll call yours if you call mine.

| Morg308,s "rant" has got me so "FIRED UP" that i,m running around the damn house searching for nickels and dimes to put together enough funds for another lower. Heck, i dont even need one, I,m just thinking maybe for a rainy day? Nope, Ive got to remain strong and hold my measly funds for the Proto-Lower, keep saying to yourself gordog, "save these funds for the proto-lower" "save these funds for the proto-lower" "save these funds for the proto-lower" |

Damn it Morg - This is why you shouldn't make posts after drinking a bunch a beer! Maybe you haven't noticed, but most everything they have to offer (at least in the way of their retro AR lowers) is already either out of stock or on backorder (for months)... & Why? - Maybe it has something to due with the fact that all the rest of us retro-builders have been constantly buying up damn-near everything they have available FOR MONTHS NOW... or probably (more likely) - the reason they're presently back-logged is because somebody in the forging &/or anodizing end of things needs to have some fires lit under their asses... I wish I knew whose, because until something is done to boost up actual production rates - you telling us to buy more NDS products is just a moot point (like preaching to the choir)...
Sucks that you now have to wait another day or so to go get your lower, but really - Whose fault is that?... |
Have talked to them in the past about a couple different things I'd be a buyer for and just seem to get the brush off and a short "its not going to happen" from them. In particular my whiney, OCD little bitch ass can't stand the idea of my gun with the word "Spud" on the side; asked if it would be possible to have em marked "NDS" maybe similar to LMT and PWA. Answer I got was "No, that's the name of the company." Seemed odd as they mark their AK receivers with NDS. Made a couple other inquiries/suggestions and was again told "no" then was hung up on. As it is, I’m into an old PWA receiver now about $450, don't mind spending the money for what I want (my receiver not to say "Spud" on it) and would be happy to send the business their way, but they don't have anything I want. On the note of spending the extra money, would spend a lot more for AK receivers with "custom" serial numbers to match the kit SNs, but that seems to be a no-go as well. Oh well.

Well, I don't know what to tell you. I'm an NDS fan for good reason, their customer service is bar none, the best I've dealt with, other than maybe one place I worked that had the same attitude about customers. Nodak can't and shouldn't have to/doesn't need to do custom engraving - that's not what they do. They don't sell car insurance or burritos either. They do make a damn fine product (several damn fine products in fact) and they have the right to name their company anything they want and put it on their product. They provide a fairly blank receiver for engraving, and I don't think Nodak Spud is any weirder than Spikes, with a spider engraved on it, Bushmaster, or for that matter, Colt, with a prancing pony. If it really bothers you, then don't buy anything from them. Leaves more for us, dontcha' know. I know you guys have been buying NDS stuff lately, because I'm having to wait to get my order filled - that's okay with me, because if NDS is busy, they are making money, and if they keep making money, they will keep producing excellent stuff. I'd hate like hell to see them become a thing of the past - that's why I periodically get on my soapbox and start cheerleading. |
