So, this am I'm moving some of the ARs in the rack. What's this? Why is that fsb funny. Pull it out, and yes, someone drilled out a cast fsb to fit the .750" barrel for a mixmaster A2 upper. Sheesh. I wonder how I hadn't seen it before.

Okay. Relieved to know it's only an Olympic.  Still, wouldn't someone still have the mold?

yeah they look close enough except for the drainhole but .750 just doesn't work for a retro build.  now if there was some way to use a spacer but i doubt that would work with the taper pins etc...

Heatnbeats answer to that is to turn the barrel down to .625  in front of the FSB AND turn it down between the FSB legs also to .625.

Heatnbeat's ather answer is to bush the .750 hole down to .610 and ream it to fit.  It doesn't work too well with used FSB's but on an undrilled one you can move the pins up a bit.

Oly made some 16" pencil barrels with a cast .625" fsb.

So the 601 clone folks should start looking for Oly barrels?
