Quoted: Thanks for the info, I'm on my 3rd time reading "Lone Survivor" There was a post not too long ago about a book on Forward Air Controllers but I can remember the title. Looked like a good read. I read a book by an officer who was in at the beginning of the Air Force Forward Air Controller program, I'll look for it. not really 'retro" but a good read http://www.amazon.com/Trigger-Men-Spider-Man-Magnificent-Bastards/dp/031235472X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327260434&sr=8-1 if you ask your library I bet they can get these books on inter library loan |

Can't recall the member that posted it, but it was right after someone asked if FAC used the GAU 5/A Your book, however, still looks like a must have. |

Marine Sniper by Charles Henderson. "93 confirmed kills" The story of Carlos Hathcock Ah... "White Feather" to hear him talk about "Apache" will put chills down your spine. He dispatched her too quickly IMO You guys are posting some incredible reading material, I've heard no ill will on any of the reviews. |

If you like WWII books I would go with Last Stand Of The Tin Can Sailors and Neptune's Inferno. Both by James Hornfischer.
I second Marine Sniper and also the follow on book to it, Silent Warrior. I also like Dear Mom: A Sniper's Vietnam as was already mentioned earlier. ETA: Good luck with your treatment!! |
