Parts I am looking for are as detailed
Stock assembly (fiberlite) CAR Style A1 Pistol Grip 6 Hole fore end... the rest I am not too confident in finding the Singlepoint is going to be tough to find the rest of the damage can easily be replaced I also lost in the fire an Eagle Low Vis Armor carrier IIIA Balcs inserts III + Plates(Tap Gamma) an MSA Gallet MICH/ACH helmet with ARCs rails... Two NODS PVS-14s... I was alerted to the fire with a phone call. |

Both singlepoints and fiberlites come up on GB frequently. Patience! Can you even get that melted fiberlite off without extreme measures? I'm guessing that your insurance will cover the damage, the problem is finding the stuff you need. Just unscrew the receiver extension... Probably going to F' Up the spring with the detent but I would just need to swap the entire assembly. The Singlepoint is the most difficult part. |

Battlefield pick-up from downed helo crash...
Could make for a great intro into some thick BS stories.... I know a member here who may have a Singlepoint, but he doesn't post much, he chooses to remain QUIET. But If you post over on RBR Want Ads he may see it. He had one on GB while back that didn't sell. |

Specialized has the Type 1 Stock assembly no Receiver extension. but with latch, spring and lever
for $125... Can't seem to find the receiver extension. Looks like a Grip and Handguards are covered, I will tell you that this place consistently delivers! The Singlepoint is in process (several leads nothing solid) I do have an aluminum Stock set or two... they both SUCK! But I could probably make one work for me. Will have to dig up the proper receiver extension... I MAY have one. Maybe.. will have to see or give SAW a call. |
| That really sucks. Fire is my biggest fear. Although i have lots of insurance, it would really SUCK trying to replace all of my "GEMS". I,m so glad nobody got hurt, or the fire was any worse. I,ve got an A-2 pistol grip if you want to roll with it until another retro one turns up. Let me know, Eric |

If you're doing a Son Tay GAU build (although I think they were actually export CAR-15s, not GAUs), then the correct stock is the vinyl coated alloy one. Rare and expensive. I did say the other stuff came up ob GB, because I've bought it on GB myself this year, with the intent of doing the exact same build. Since buying my singlepoint I've seen several more come and go, Haven't figured out a mount yet. |

The Retro forum is the most generous of all forums out there! I love to see the generosity of our members offering up parts for a member who has lost so much. Even though you can afford to pay for these things I admire our members for their kindness. If you still need an A1 pistol grip IM me and I will send you a NOS A1 pistol grip for your carbine. |

Plus 1 on this! I saw this too late, but I too have a set of HGs possibly and definitely a Fiberlite stock of you need it. I bought two for a build, but WTH. A brother in need is a brother in need. The stock has numbers on it - I'm sure a little finger nail polish remover (acetone) will take it off though. LMK if you can't find what you are looking for. - Morg ETA: OP - FWIW, boywonder777 has two Fiberlite stock bodies and A1 grips FS over at RBR cheap. He is great to deal with BTW. I see no reason you couldn't reuse the receiver extension with a new spring & buffer. |

WEll using the receiver extension is a possibility IF not for that giant WAD of melted plastic on it. getting that off without F'ing up the tube... Guh. |
|
Sorry for your loss dude. That's one of my biggest fears, losing my collection to fire.
You might be able to salvage that tube. I'll bet that if you cold get through the plastic at one point, you could probably peel most of it off. Maybe with a sharp box cutter or something. The plastic didn't meld with the aluminum, it only melted around the outside of it. Hope it works. |
