OK, I decided not to do anymore retro rifles this year after 3 601s, 2 603s, a 604 and a Prototype.

However, I have a nice Colt barrel, a slick slide carrier and a good stock set laying abound.

What to do?  Sell the starter kit on EE?

How about just put together a range shooter 604?  Yea, that its!

Any ideas on where I can get a 604 upper?  I have four 603 uppers but no 604.  I can't let the carrier go to waste, can I?

Where can I go to get help for this retro mental illness I have?

Used ones show up on the EE and Gunbroker fairly regularly and NoDak Spud and Fulton Armory have new ones (which will require finding a port door and sight assembly - also, NoDak's are grey and Fulton's are black).

First, I encourage you to shift your perspective.  Rather than considering this a mental illness, think of it as a condition. An "illness" cries out for a cure.  A "condition" needs only periodic treatments, which will enable you to live an otherwise normal life!
Your specific condition can be managed by the occasional addition of a new retro firearm (something I think you already understand, evidenced by your instinctive need to stockpile 603 uppers).

So, in the interest of helping you learn to accept and live with your condition, I'll point out that you could place a "want to trade" ad over on the EE.  Maybe you can find someone to swap you a 604 upper for one of your 603s?
I know it's difficult to let go of a piece––even as a swap.  But sometimes, we have to bite the bullet to get our treatment.

Most importantly, remember that you're not alone.  Most of us here share your condition, and we're here for you any time you need to talk through a new purchase or a build.

Has anybody dealt with Tar Heel Ordnance before?  Are they good-to-go?
