I'm sure there is a spot on this blog were I can ID an upper.   Can some one link me to the topic's please.  Just bought one off gunbroker with a 24" barrel and a flat top receiver. The barrel is marked b mp 5.56 nato 1/9 h bar.  It also has a free float modified hand guard.  Would anyone know how to take it off also.  Will I need to pull gas block and tube first?  The gas block has been modified also but has a crown on it (colt?).  http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=219988660

Thanks
Rich

bmp is bushmaster's barrel marking. My xm15e2s is marked the same.  I would hedge my bets that complete upper is probally bushmaster built.

Well after getting it home and looking it over a bit more I will be removing the gas block and gas tube.  I'm going to replace them and also get a new hand guard as well YHM-5005 smooth rifle forearm.... like the look, nice.  Looking for a few pointers on hand guard removal if anyone has some.  I was also wondering if one of the JP Enterprises heat sink could be fitted to this barrel?  Just wondering if anyone has tried this the barrel is .750 but I'm unsure about the space it will have with the YHM hand guard.  Hate to buy parts that don't fit.

Thanks

The float tube should be easy to remove, just grab it and unscrew it.  If that doesn't work, you can use a pipe wrench, but wrap it with a hand towel so you don't mar it.

Just as an FYI, this really isn't the correct forum for this topic. Since you're new, I'll let it slide.

In the future the general AR discussion board would of worked better for this thread.
