After changing up a couple ARs and building a couple more, I figured out I had almost enough parts to put together the 604ish clone I've been wanting.  Some of the parts were leftovers from an Apex kit I used on another project.  The lower is a DPMS, all that's left of my first AR.  The barrel is a C MP B I picked up on the EE a while back on an impulse.  The stock is a Numrich special that I had on another lower.  The bolt is a leftover from another build.  After running a couple wanted ads, I found a dark slickside upper that matches the lower pretty good.  Definitely not correct, but it's something I won't care about every scratch and promises to be a fun shooter when the snow finishes melting.
The carbine is a fun KISS gun.  I built a matching .22lr upper with a CMMG barrel.

Nice rifle!  I love those rat builds.  My first six AR's were built on DPMS lowers, and a couple of them had surplus 603 uppers on them.  They were great shooting rifles.

I really like it but 604's are by far my favorites.  Nice allocation of spare parts.  Nothing like a budget AR that functions and shoots as good as a high dollar unit.

Is that type D stock 'mottled' ?  Appears so even from a distance.  Nice.

Ha!  When I got it a couple years ago, I was disappointed because it was "moldy" looking, so I sprayed it with flat black paint.
