Looks like the retro 20" 1x12 barrels are the best candidate for this new cartridge. They suggest useing a rifle length gas system for proper function in a semi-auto. Also the 1x12 twist works great for a 53 grain bullet. Not as fast as a 22-250, but 3450 fps isn't bad.

3450fps is fast.  Always liked the 1-12 twist retro barrels for the light stuff myself especially when they were dirt cheap.  They worked as well as or better than some of the real high dollar barrels.

3450 is damn fast. What charge are you putting behind it?

I think a lightweight flattop scoped upper is on my build schedule. I have several nib colt M16 uppers I purchased from CDNN a few years back. One upper will probably be missing a barrel.

I'ts a Hornaday factory load. They must have put together a new powder to achive this velocity. They also have it in other calibers. For marketing reasons, I'm sure the powder selection will be a secret for a while.
