The more I read on RBR & here on the retro forum the crazier I get.,this really is an illness.
At first glance I'm thinking a 601 build, then the OCD kicked in & after reading for 3 hours it's now a late 604 with a full fence, Medic!!
This really is a special lot here on ARFCOM, good to know there is a support group for RBRD.

Now if you excuse me I need to take my meds & read up on forge marking, it helps quell the voices that say,"buy more parts..."

NDS is the Devil!!

Usually a support group helps support you against your disease.  In our case we support the disease.

When I have every type of M1956 & M1967  Mag pouch ever made for M14 & M16 usage and many of each variety that are in fair condition as extras  to sell but won't in my collection (And still have smithsonian condition versions of them all to keep in the collection ) I will have won .

my first foray into retro i thought consisted of a pistol grip swap, delta ring -> slip ring, and an a1 flash hider.  i didn't know how far the sickness would go.

With my GAU complete and my 604 nearly done, I had to get this monkey off my back before I got more parts. So to cure my uncontrollable urges, I sent my Kahr Thompson in for SBR conversion. It seems to be working.

Tell me about it. At work I carry a colt 6920 with a suppressor and eotech, and then I come here and find out that real ar's have carry handles. The only flat tops I have at the house are 2 being built for other people. I have a 6520 I re-barreled into an A2, a 604, an almost done 607 project (thanks my65pan!), and a 603 upper. I'm even disliking the forward assists on the uppers that are supposed to have them. I even asked about trading in the 6920 at work for something a little more "classic." I got the look. Apparently when a company makes one of the largest suppressor purchases ever by a private entity that took forever to be approved by the atf, you're supposed to be grateful. I just figured an xm177 look would save them some money.

You need to wear the "Flat tops are for pussies ": T-shirt (Wife Beater style in White) at the Work pic-nic

Did I happen to mention when I finish my two outstanding projects (ok, three thanks to NoDak Spud) that I'm finished?

Really.

I mean it this time.

You know when I first got my M16, I could not convert it over to a "short M4" fast enough.
I wish I could go back and keep that aluminum stock and pencil barrel.
If I remember right, I sold the aluminum stock (complete) for 25$ and had to pay more than that for the M4, which was not even milspec.
 foresight my friends

Currently I have a few modern uppers, decked out in the most hated ARMS parts bought dirt cheap off the EE.
Also I have a nice M4gery made with all the Colt parts I can legally own, pinned and welded phantom... I made sure it is correct as possible.
That is a nice gun but considerably heavier than something of retro equivalence.
