Hey guys Ive been reading around here for a while and I have a question for you. I have a Colt SP1 that my aunt is trying to sell due to a divorce. The gun appears to be be made in or around 1973. The serial number is SP 2045XX. Any idea on how much it would be worth? I have pics I can attach later if necessary. The gun needs cleaning but is in good shape otherwise. I have seen them range from 1000 in poor condition to 1550 in great condition. Thanks for the help!

Not really sure I have an answer but those in ban states may be more interested then others but the Colt name certainly helps.

I have a Colt Sporter AR-15A2 HBAR that was my first AR-15 I ever owned and I kinda got lucky to get it back as I sold it just before Y2K and got it back about 6-7 years later when the guy that purchased it from me resold it.  Some guns are worth keeping and if you can find a fair price it might be one that you try to keep in your family.  I would expect it would be worth around $1100 to $1200 if it is in nice shape.

Not really supposed to discuss values here, a quick search of SP1's on gunbroker will give you a rough idea.

This ^^^^^^^ Code of conduct frowns heavy on appraising and giving values.
