You have a later no-forge 603 upper with round forging that was rebarreled at some point with an FN A2 barrel.

Check out the 603 Upper Guide to get an idea on the year of manufacture for your 603 upper.

ETA: Your upper is Colt, BTW. Notice the proof markings forward of the ejection port.

thanks i have a cnc mill ,of all my gun builds the ar takes a lot of machine work if some one ever crys about spending $125. for a ar lower it took me about 5 hours to mill one out . not worth the time to build your own but to say you made it is worth it.

Nice job on the lower. Some retro parts installed also. Upper has been identified, should be late 60's vintage with a newer FN Govt profile barrel. Rifle should handle and shoot real well. If it has a triangle cap at the FSB you could easilly install a set of triangle handguards.

I'm gonna go with the upper being a late XM16E1 receiver (Is the front lug counter bored on the left side?), & the barrel is a armorer installed replacement for the original A1 profile barrel.

Upper receiver is Colt, barrel is FN.
