I thought I would share a few pictures of this one I found. Made by mamasans out of poncho liners.

When they were making those, and etching Zippos and hammering candlesticks out of artillery shells did you guys ever get the feeling that industrious people like that would apply the same ingenuity to warfare?

Serious question.

LBJ's methods were unsound.

Serious answer.

Found this in the back of my closet.  Too similar to be "mama-san" made in my opinion other than the location and a couple "custom" items.   Unless there were pattern controlled sewing machines all over the country.  Only the remnants of the blue lining remain.  Buttons.

Wore dad's sometimes when I was in highschool.  IIRC it & mom's are still at my parent's house.  Dad had 3 made when he was in country, one for him, mom & me.  He had to get extra poncho liners to have them made (he wasn't about to sacrifice his woobie to have it made into a jacket & was somewhat of a cumshaw artist).  His & mom's are still in a closet somewhere at home, I have mine (along with a SeaBee logo sweatshirt) but seeing as I only 1-2yrs old when he was in country ('69-70) it doesn't fit anymore.  No camera or I'd post pix.  I'll see if I can borrow one though.

I've read about guys getting bell bottom pants made out of poncho liners as well.  That sounds awesome.
