I don't know that much about these Colt scopes but I've heard you guys talk about them - says this one is Japanese.

Do you guys think that the Colt is authentic? It's only at $76 with a little over a day left.

Serious bidders don't get in until the end.  Also it's not the earliest version.

Jeesh There was one nicer than that last year for $3200.  Beware the word, servicable.

Yea, that..

It's a shame that someone is going to get taken on the other scope..

This is a fake, and can be purchased for $65 new + shipping.

I'm not sure exactly how old mine is, can't recall when I got it.  3x20.  Japanese.

Step up twice from the exit to entry lenses.  Straight screws hold the bracket to the body, not Philips.  All the adjustment screws (and the cap over the range adjustment adjustment screw) have a crescent moon cutout on one side.  Purpose unknown but a 5.56mm cartridge rim fits.

You know - the Japanese are usually pretty good at mimicking things - you'd think they could have found a straight slot screw contractor for the screws. The Phillips heads are rather glaring when you know they are incorrect for the piece. Granted some may not, myself included until I began reading about them here.

Now that is the scope to have.

Its not just the screws. The tube itself appears to be a 4x Colt scope style  tube instead of the one used in the 3x scopes. The magnification is printed above the logo instead of below it and as someone mentioned the slots in the adjustment knobs do not have a slot for the base of a 5.56 cartridge as the real Japanese 3x Colt scopes do.

What threw me is the fact that the tube is almost completely straight, save for that little step down towards the eye piece. All the Colt 3x20's I've seen have a step down towards the front as well.

ETA: I see some of you saw the same thing.
