My lower will be in tomorrow and the upper in a day or two, barrel I hope by tomorrow for the IDF build.

Big question-if it was you-would you pay 100 to have the barrel cut, crowned, threaded and pin/weld the A1? This would make it at or close to 1" shorter than if I left it at 16" vs. 14.7/14.8"

What do you think?

If I had the money and I knew it would function reliably, yes.

I'm starting to like the look of the 14.5" with extended pin/weld A2 FH and mid length gas system.  Too bad it's (The saber defence barrel I'm on about) not a lightweight like it should be.

I am currently going back and forth on this as well. I'm just going to save the barrel for very last after I've accumulated everything else and then make the decision.

FWIW, ADCO, in addition to doing the barrel work, can test your upper for you (for another $25) after they do the chop and weld job.
