Does anyone have an idea where I could get one or two m16 rubber ducks? I just purchased a M1009 CUCV blazer and the rifle racks sit empty. i dont want to put my real rifles in it because of the way it locks.....it doesnt.

Perhaps spray-painted Blueguns/Redguns?
My concern would be that seeing something that appears to be a firearm might make the vehicle a target for break ins. You'll walk out of the store and find the window busted cause somebody wanted a closer look at the M-16 in the window... http://www.blueguns.com/ http://www.red-diamond-unif.com/asp_red_gun.htm |

They show up from time to time. They run around 400 for an older A1 version. Gunbroker is your best bet and Ebay. Mine below was given to me by a member of the 20th SOS from Hurlburt fld. many years ago. It was before they had CAR versions and they chopped the barrel and stock to simulate the CAR length. It has seen some serious miles. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj149/halpark/DSC00665.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj149/halpark/DSC00666.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj149/halpark/DSC00667.jpg ETA: You'll just draw attention to yourself with 2 rubber ducks in the window. Don't do it. Gosh - looks like a 605 with a 607 stock |

I had no idea they are worth so much. I am surprised I have never had to sign for them other than combloc OPFOR ducks from TASC. Neither did I. Most of them I see are pretty beat up but I picked up one at a gun show recently for a lot less than that. I guess I got a deal. They are out there, if you aren't in a hurry. I also got an AK on which I had not seen before. I have since learned there is also an SKS one, never seen it either! |

I still had no idea they were worth that much!! My dad always had a beat up one in the warehouse I liked so when I saw this one and it was in nice shape I got it. I still did very well on it at about 120.00 in trade! Makes me feel good! Hi Ash, was it the one with the Colt logo and serial # and Prop US Gov. markings ? |

| Stopped at the local surplus store looking for an Ontario code m10 scabbard & noticed he had a rubber duck M16, interestingly it was marked on the side "Elisco Tool Co. Phillipines", didn't have a steel barrel the whole thing was resin & well worn, anybody ever hear of an Elisco mfg rubber duck before? |

Hal143,
Mine has the same serial number as yours, 804005. It is normal length and molded around an unserviceable C MP B barrel. I have seen several other serial number molds and many with resin barrels over the years. I also have an AK like 45Bravo's but with brown painted stocks. At one time I had a SAW, PKM and RPG-7 w/ removable warhead but someone wanted them more than I did ($$). Wpns Man |

Most of the ones I've seen have stocks engraved with TASO or TASC. I believe that to be Training Aid Supply Organization or Training Aid Supply Command. Most also have FG or something else following. FG is for Fort Gordon. I also have a cool collection of some resin castings of ordnance including an anti-tank landmine. That one scared the shit out of me because I actually found it buried at Fort Rucker in our training area! I rubbed my foot across the ground and saw something blue. Normally blue means "training" but I was VERY careful when digging it up. Once it was unearthed I discovered that it was some sort of hardened foam so it went home with me. There's no telling who left it there or how long ago, it had been buried for quite some time. |

These things are great conversation pieces to hang on the wall,
My buddy (retired Ord W3) has a few also. He has a couple of resin M7 bayonets that would look good on the A1 though the "blades" are flimsy to the point of being limp. I hate when your blade goes limp, Wpns Man |
