I'm watching an auction for a Retro bolt carrier, & in the description it says this: "this is the older one no chrome where the bolt goes

My question is, were there carries that did not have the chrome lining on the inside where the bolt lives in the carrier? I sent the guy a question asking him for more of a description of where he was referring to, & for him to post a pic in his auction, but just thought I'd ask the experts here of their opinion.

Yes, I think so.

He talking about the inside of the carrier being CL.  This came about later.  The earliest carriers were parked IIRC.

Is it a chrome carrier or parked?

Just looked at the auction, I do not agree with the seller, parked carriers came along after the all chrome version so why would they chrome the chamber (barrel) and not the gas chamber on the bolt carrier?

I have not seen any Colt carriers without chrome lined gas chambers.

Anyone else have any info on this?

Gas chamber, that is the term I was wanting for a description, rather than "where the bolt lives".

That is the main reason I posted this RMILLER, as I thought all bolt carriers had the chromed gas chamber. Like you said the chromed carriers were made first, then the parked, so why would this one not have a chrome chamber? Unless it has been refinished, unbeknown to the GB seller.
